The International Network for Government Science Advice, or Ingsa, is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a global conference in Rwanda. Rémi Quirion, the president of Ingsa, recently sat down with RPN to discuss the upcoming event and the organization’s plans for the future.

During the conference, attendees will have the chance to reflect on Ingsa’s achievements over the past decade and discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The global gathering will be the fifth for the organization (sixth if you count a virtual conference held in 2020), and it will be the first to take place in a Global South country.

Quirion emphasized the importance of this milestone event and expressed his excitement at bringing together experts from around the world to collaborate and share their knowledge and experiences. He said that it was an honor to hold such an important event in Rwanda, which he believes has a lot to offer in terms of science advice in developing countries.

The conference promises to be a platform for meaningful discussions and networking opportunities for all those involved in government science advice. Attendees will have the chance to learn from each other, share best practices, and explore new ideas and approaches. It will also provide an opportunity for policymakers, scientists, and researchers from around the world to connect with each other and work together on projects that could benefit governments everywhere.
