William Byron emerges victorious in Martinsville Speedway Cup race

William Byron has achieved another victory for Hendrick Motorsports, leading 88 laps on his way to the checkered flag at Martinsville Speedway. The race featured five cautions, totaling 15 laps of caution, including two stage ends. In the end, only 14 cars were able to finish on the lead lap, with David Starr and John Hunter Nemechek failing to complete the race.

Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing have been the dominant forces in the first eight races of the Cup season, each team capturing three wins. Byron has three wins for Hendrick Motorsports, while Larson has added one to their tally. Joe Gibbs Racing’s wins have come from Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell.

The competition remains fierce as the NASCAR season progresses, with Trackhouse Racing being the only other team to secure a win so far this season with Daniel Suarez’s victory at Atlanta.
