Embraer Hires First Round of Graduates from Tri-State Airport’s Aviation Maintenance Technology Program: Building Skills and Careers in the Aerospace Industry

Aviation maintenance technology graduates secure job agreements after graduation

Embraer, a leading aerospace corporation in Huntington, W.Va., has hired the first round of graduates from the Aviation Maintenance Technology program at Tri-State Airport. The program is a joint venture between Marshall University and Mountwest Community and Technical College, and offers students hands-on training in engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and more.

Monica Newman McCluney, head of U.S. corporate social responsibility and the Embraer foundation, expressed pride in seeing the growth and success of these students over the past 18 months. James Smith, director of the program, highlighted the hands-on approach that equips students with industry-level skills. One student, Devin LeMaster, shared his excitement about starting his position as a line maintenance technician at Embraer in Nashville.

The graduating students will be working at various facilities in Florida and Tennessee, showcasing the success of the Aviation Maintenance Technology program in preparing them for promising careers in the aerospace industry.
